Black-headed Pythons
Aspidites melanocephalus

The jet black head in contrast to the brown banded body sets Black-headed pythons apart as one of the most strikingly patterned large snakes. They are hardy captives with great appetites and many specimens grow to be ‘dog tame’. As a result, they are often favourites in many collections.

My current collection consists of a stunning array of differently coloured locality animals from Dajarra Qld, The Pilbara WA, 80 Mile Beach WA and the Northern Territory. I am also working with some colour and pattern mutations, including Pinstripe NT animals and Axanthic animals.
